Obituary - Dauphin Herald Dec. 14. 1960 - MRS. MARGARET MACHAN

Mrs. Margaret Machan, pioneer of Dauphin passed away Tuesday, December 6 in the Dauphin General Hospital at the age of 86 years. funeral services were held from Eggertson’s funeral chapel, Friday, Dec. 9, with Rev. M. T. Robinson officiating. Pallbearers were: L.Bemie and C.Spencer, Gilbert Plains; H. Wright, J.Spurway, B .McCorvie, R.J.McLaughlin. Margaret McPherson was born in Parkhill, Ontario and received her education there. She came to Dauphin district in 1891 and to the town in 1906. She married Robert Gavin Machan in 1896 at Spruce Creek. She is survived by three sons: Melville, Dauphin; Gavin (Joe), Los Angeles. Calif.; Robert, Rocky Mountain House, Alta.; she was predeceased by three sons and a daughter. She is also survived by one brother and two sisters, Edward, Victoria, BC; Mrs. Mandy Chapman, Kamloops, Mrs. Myrtle Hall, Winnipeg. There are 19 grandchildren.
