"My Great Grandfather was Robert William Mitchell - July 4 1857. He was
the brother to Mary Ellen Mitchell who married John Griffith.

Robert married Margaret Miranda Cowan in 1880. They lived in
Maryborough County Ontario.

They moved to Oak River Manitoba in 1891 and started a homestead. Just
after receiving his land grant, the family moved to Heward Saskatchewan
and received another Homestead.

Robert and Margaret had 12 children.
Isaiah, Mary Ellen, Vero, Milford, Ursula, Ida, Mona, William, Eveline,
Peter, Ralph, and Thomas.

Ursula (my grandmother) married Arthur Oliver Mitchell (no relation) who
was born in Downie Twp, Perth County, Ontario. They were married in
1909 in Heward Saskatchewan.

My Grandfather (Arthur Oliver Mitchell) obtained his Western Land Grant
Battleford, Saskatchewan in 1911. However, some reason possible they
moved back to Heward Saskatchewan. Ursula and Arthur had six children.
William, Earl, Norman, Hazel, Mervin Oliver (my dad), and Emma.

My grandmother (Ursula) died in 1934 in Froude Saskatchewan. In 1937,
my grandfather moved his family to Elkhorn, Manitoba. Ursula is buried
in Heward, Saskatchewan. Robert and Margaret Mitchell (Ursula's parents
died in 1942 and 1947 respectively). They are both buried in Heward
Cemetry.

Arthur Oliver Mitchell died in Elkhorn in 1948 and was buried in Heward
Cemetry.

My Dad (Mervin Oliver Mitchell) was born in Froude Saskatchewan, May 9
1923. After serving in WWII, he returned to Elkhorn and married my
mother Lois Mae Plowman, July 10, 1946. My mother was born in Douglas,
Manitoba. They had the following children, Wenda, Lucinda, Debra, and
me (Mervin Brent). I was born January 7, 1959 in Brandon Manitoba.

In July 1965, my family moved to Winnipeg where I grew up. My father
passed away September 18, 1985 and is buried in Winnipeg, Mantioba.
Since then all this siblings have passed away. In 1995, my mother moved
to Kelowna British Columbia from Winnipeg. I am currently, unmarried
and have not children.

I lived in Regina from 1980 - 1989 working for SaskTel. I moved back to
Winnipeg and worked for the Manitoba Department of Justice. In 1997, I
resigned from Manitoba Department of Justice and lived in the United
States for 5 years. Three years in Phoenix Arizona. In 2002, I moved
back to Kelowna.

I understand the frustration of searching family trees. I am looking
for my grandfather's family (Arthur Oliver Mitchell). His father and
mother were James William Mitchell and Mary Manley. Mary died in 1891
and is buried in Elderslie Ontario. I am looking for their family
information.

In regards to my mother family (Lois Mae Plowman) I have been in contact
with people from England and have the family tree back to 1600's for
both my Grandfather Plowman and Grandmother Shepperson.

In January, I received an Email for a Diane Plowman. It turns out that
my grandfather and her grandfather were brothers. So we have kepted in
touch.
